Interesting article about Martinsville and left-foot braking:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Sure to start the debate over left-foot vs. right-foot braking all over
again!

This one! ;-)

Seriously, pretty amazing if what Waltrip says is true and they don't even
trail the brakes at Martinsville. Never going to beat the N4 AI there
without in the virtual world, IMO.

Good one Jan :)

Anyway Kevin, off and on there are long threads in RAS debating the merits
and/or realism of left-foot braking and trail braking in sims vs. real life.
So guys without lives (like me) find articles that discuss the techniques
used in the real world and post them on RAS, thus starting the debate all
over again...

Link is broken-gives a "file not found/pardon our dust!" error.
If you go to the NASCAR page, it even has the column link listed
(with DW's picture, natch), but clicking on that doesn't work either...

Yeah, but all he says is that not using his left foot to brake kept the
brakes cooler, and thus allowed to him to run quicker. I don't think this
one instance will ahve anything to do with left versus right foot braking.
In this case, Martinsville has to fall into one of those "special cases"
kind of tracks.

Rob, Jan is familiar with with my particular brand of aridly dry humor, such
as when I posted, on the release of GP3:

"The problem with r.a.s. is that it's too GP3 centric."

If you go back and read my original post again in light of this you'll find
it takes on a whole new meaning.

Yeah well I think RAS is getting much too backhoe-centric!
