From Tom Pabst's earlier post.......
John.....

Gosh, you must have been intercepting Empire email or something?

You have it almost correct.....except that WSC has been dropped by
Empire.........and will be replaced (due to "go gold" in about a month) by
the title: "Starsky and Hutch Sports Car."

This will retain most of the race cars we've learned about for WSC.......so
that's good news, indeed.  And, because there will be no***pit view (only
the F-10 style trailing camera view), Chris and Tony were able to move
forward and finish "the game" in just a few weeks.

I don't get it.

It's a joke surely.

Not to mention the whole starsky and hutch deal.
Could just imagine what would happen if Empire asked for the changes outta
the West Bros....being that it's essentially their baby.  I know if that
were me death would fall on those lucky few indiviuals who bore the news.

WSC has beed dropped by Empire?

by John Bod » Sat, 30 Jun 2001 02:52:27

Oh my Lord -- what have I done??

Tom's reply WAS just more of an elaboration on my original satirical
post.  The "Starsky & Hutch" game from Empire is a reality, but the
cancellation/conversion of WSC is pure satire from me and Tom.  I
marked my original post explicitly to show that my comments about WCS
were satirical in nature -- Tom, unfortunately, wasn't quite overt
enough with his satire, which has put a major scare into a few of you,
it seems.

As far as I know (and I think this goes for Tom, too), the Starsky &
Hutch "conversion" of WSC is just a joke based on the fact that Empire
is publishing BOTH WSC and Starsky & Hutch, and also relates back to
my original post that was reflecting on the fact that "Trans Am
Racing: 1967-1972" was cancelled and then converted into a "Dukes of
Hazzard" game.

SORRY for the confusion!

:-(

I was perfectly serious, John.  Thought you'd intercepted an Empire email or
something...because your "satire" is right on target with what's really
happening.  How did you know?

I suppose this means that the Bugbear/West Bros
"World Rally Sports Trophy Cars" title is just a
joke, too, right?

The Bugbear tie-in will be called "Starsky & Hutch Rally Trophy".
Also, look for EA's upcoming "Need for Speed: Starsky & Hutch
Unleashed" title coming to a store near you soon!

Why yes, it is a joke, surely.

To understand it look into the history of Trans Am Racing, currently
available in the bargain bins as " Dukes of Hazzard."

No, I'm not making that up.

Tom obviously has a sick sense of humor. I KNEW there must be some reason to
like him.

And don't forget, " Teletubbies Racing." A fun self esteem building tool, no
matter how everybody drives they all cross the finish line at the same time
so nobodies feelings get hurt.
