Why? I would think with my system, should get pretty decent framerate, is
it because I have a rendition card?
Anyway, still downloading, have about 8mb now.

The sad truth seems to be that most "Direct 3d" accelerated games are
showing very poor performance compared to the native "Glide" and/or
"Rendition" ports. I too thought I had a fairly decent system P166MMX,
32 Meg EDO, Intense 3d and Pure 3d. CPR makes my system feel like my
old P100 without any accelerated card for the most part. Yes, you will
see the added detail and graphics but you will also struggle with
actually getting a desirable and consistent "framerate" which is was a
simracer so desperately needs to have both a drive-able and enjoyable
experience. On this note, I am extremely dissatisfied by CPR.

For Nascar2 & Winston Cup Fans!
If that's the case, I will be dissapointed as well. The demo is downloaded
and installed, printing readme now, should be trying it out here shortly.

What do y'all think of the sky textures? Not sure if I like the rolling,
domed look, guess that helps the fr.
Also, in my opinion the ai cars are too dark, need to be brightened up some
for good visibility.

Type "frame" when you are on the track and you will see the frame rate in
the lower right of your screen. Play with all the graphics and sound
settings, (there's alot) and check the frame rate as you go along. See what
you think is important and eliminate what you don't need to maximize frame
rate. I have a GatewayP5 200w/mmx, 32megs, STB4 meg graphics card, no 3dfx
card, and I'm able to reach 30 fps at Laguna with the settings I've chosen.
If you have some questions, feel free to e-mail me.

Well, after reading so many mixed reviews, I have decided to go ahead and
download the demo version of CPR. My system is a Dell XPS 233 mmx, 32 mb
sdram, Sierra screamin 3d rendition card with the latest drivers. I have
successfully downloaded and installed Direct X 5.0, am downloading the demo
now. Looking foward to seeing how it compares to ICR2, and how it runs on
my system. I'll let y'all know how I make out.

Well, I got Microsoft CPR installed. Installation went very smoothly for
me, no problems at all. My T2 calibrated and worked fine right out the
chute. I have turned only 3 or 4 laps at Laguna, with all textures on, I
seem to be getting a reasonable frame rate, at least from the eyes
perspective. My system: Dell dimension xps 233 mmx, 32 mb sdram, sierra
screamin 3d card with latest drivers, SB awe 32. I seem to get better play
with hardware acceleration off. I love the engine sound, the simulated head
movement will take a little getting used to, may be pretty cool though.
Now, is there a way to display frame rates while driving? I have checked
the readme, I don't see anything on it there.I'd like to be able to quote
firm numbers.

Hmm, then maybe Microsoft should include on their box " and 3dfx card only,
without it you have no hope, cause 3dfx is the future" Stangely enough, I
can run Nascar 2 in win95, in nonrendition mode, and still get great
framerates.

though it is Direct3D, with out 3dfx there is no hope even
I believe several people reported lower framerates with the Rendition3D
enabled. 3dfx will aprox. double the framerate.

Yep. Even though it is Direct3D, with out 3dfx there is no hope even
on your 233.
