I have not heard anything but it would probably be a good idea for
Papyrus to update this program. When Grand Prix Legends "bombed", Papy
rushed to update Nascar 3 (which it isn't) and Legends of Nascar. Both
employ the same type of graphics as Nascar 2 which are not nearly as nice as
GPL. Still have those "blank" rear view mirrors also. Both of these products
were rushed for even if the GPL engine could not be used for CPU speed
reasons, a true NEW Nascar 3 program would have at least had the graphics
from GPL along with the replay mode.
So Papy rushed to get these two programs out the door for quick
sales to make up for lost time and sales on GPL. Well if Papy wants to get
another quick sale they should speed some time with CART racing. These cars
are the ones that put Papy on the map weren't they? A ton of people would
love to have a "new" CART racing sim even if it is still just an upgrade.
Also, another way to make some money would be for Papy to make an
add-on program for GPL. This would not take the time that it took for making
the GPL program itself. It could include weather, new tracks, settings to
reduce th power of these cars for those who cannot drive these cars, ect.
Why can't Papy make programs with the GPL engine AND the engine used with
Nascar programs? Wouldn't their products attract all simmers then? Uh, more
sales?
