Suggested rFactor settings ?

I've been thinking about rFactor the last few days but before I do, want to
get some ideas as to settings in the game. My system specs; AMD64 3500+, OCZ
1024 (running in dual channel)., 9800pro (128m), Gigabyte GA-K8NSC-939 mobo
(NF3 250gb chipset) and SBlive 24bit audio. Will I be able to run in DX9
with eye candy without the FPS/stutter hits I've been hearing about? Just
wondering before I take the plunge and end up not being able to get enough
visual along with performance out of my system.        Thanks for any
insight.

You should be able to run it fine. You might not be able to max out
everything, but pretty close. Your system is probably faster than average by
a good margin. I run an Intel I-630 and ATI X-850 and can max out everything
without stuttering. Your system is not much, if any, less capable.

The 9800P will be your bottle neck but you should still be able to get most
game details.

My system is similar to yours (on an Asus A8V), and I haven't
experienced any stutters so far, either on- or offline.

It's a dedicated *** machine though (I do all my productivity stuff
on a separate Linux box), so everything is maxed out for games
performance. I have found that running DX8 instead of DX9 increases fps
with rfactor quite a bit.

Cheers, uwe
