You should at least rent PGR2 or try the demo if you can find it, it's a lot
different from PGR1. It's a great game with over 100 cars and 10 different
cities, plus it has the Nurburgring Nordschleife. There is no car tuning or
upgrading but the cars are arranged in nice tiers that you have to unlock,
so it has a more logical progression than PGR1. Some people don't like the
kudos system which is used to unlock things, but I think it works better in
PGR2 than PGR1. In PGR1 there was a lot of emphasis on flashy driving, but
in PGR2 flashy driving is only really rewarded in the cone challenges, in
all the other events you get more kudos for racing clean and fast and
finishing well than you would from doing stunts. So with PGR2 you get a
wide variety of cars and tracks in a progressive challenge that is completed
through skilled driving. And the 'ring. :o)
