I appreciate that these posts might be rather boring to someone who can do
low 8 mins at the Ring but when you crack 9 mins for the first time you feel
nothing but elation.

I've tried for the past few days to lower my old time of  9:12 . Today I did
a 9:16 , a 9:15 and just pipped my old time to clock 9:12.37 . On my last
run I finally did a 8:59.43 having smacked the barriers just before the pit
straight . It's marginal I'll admit but a sub 9 is a sub 9 .

Eldred , if you're still on that 9:00.60 then I honestly feel for you after
negociating those 174 turns. That's pretty cruel luck to be so close but as
many here have said , you'll have to start using that left foot to brake.

Is it just me or do you also find your body temp getting warmer and warmer
as you're driving . The tension seems to make my heart race and my body cook
. Heaven knows what it must be like for those F1 guys sitting just ahead of
the engine and trying to keep the car on the limit for 1 1/2 hrs.

Happy driving amigos

Andrew

Congrats to DC on his win today

Congratulations man!!!!!!

I have an annoying 9:01,22 as PB - and tonight is the last time I can drive
this wonderfull machine (The Ferrari) in a long time.

Tomorrow Im going to Sweden to visit my girlfriend for a good week - then
after half a day at home I fly off to South Africa for 2 months - Im
attending a course that will give me knowledge to begin my new job. After
South Africa I will have a job that involves flying you to the client monday
morning and returning friday evening. And my girlfriend wants to see me too
so I guess for the next 2 year my GPL time will be extremely limited.

I shouldnt be surprised if I end up never beating that f!"##"% 9 minute
barrier.

Anyway its a great job Im getting so I just hope it compensates for the
loss of this very very nice ***ion to GPL.

I will be reading RAS untill it gets too painfull hearing about your
problems with GP3, GP4, WSC GPL2 and the likes - then I will either take a
girlfriend free vacation of a month to get aquainted to all the new sims
or - if that is not possible - go completely bonkers - which hopefully will
give my boss a reason to give me vacation - hehe.

Im now goint to be a passive member of RAS - that sux

BR
Thomas

PS - enjoy all the above mentioned sims

Oh, believe me, Andrew, I know *exactly* how you feel. Took me *ages*
to crack the barrier - now at 8:51, but nothing will ever beat that
first 8:58 lap...

<snip>

You're telling me! I had a session today, and had to go and have a
shower afterwards, and change my shirt, which was soaked, and I
mean *soaked*, in sweat.

Hear, hear. I'd like him to be WC.

Hey, even the people hitting low 8s now had to break that 9min barrier. Keep
it up, and soon you'll break 8:30!!!
