Well... when it came out (more than 3 years ago) it really blew ANY
racing-sim away. And it is still the best _formula_one_ sim there is, i mean,
Indycar is not formula one, Nascar isn't, so the one that remains is World
Circuit. Besides, when you drive it, well, you're really gonna freak out.
It's just so great to blow away from Schumacher!

BUT I have to admit I like Nascar over World Circuit because of the great
amount of realism and the hires-mode. Although I've not seen a whole Nascar
race in my life. (I live in the Netherlands, haven't found any Nascar
there, it's a shame!!!).

It looks ***cos its so old, but it was the first REALLY GREAT F1 sim and plays like a dream, wait for WC2.

Simply because it is the only PC game for F1 racing. I would say a lot of
people like it also because it is easier to drive than IndyCar or NasCar. The
graphics are not as detailed, and the car setup options are not as realistic.
But the tracks are very realistic compared to the real circuts, and the rumble
strips are nice to have (that is something IndyCar neglected to include). The
auto brake feature works much better than IndyCar, so it is more fun for
novices to play. They can actually get around a lap without a wipeout. It was
originally made for Atari computers, and I had played it years before it was
ported to the PC. I loved it back then, and when it came out for PC I bought
it right away. I loved it until IndyCar racing came out, and I didn't like how
difficult ICR was at first. Nowadays, I play WC only to have a look at a track
before a live race on TV. :)

Also, I got an editor or two for it, to boost the horsepower etc. It is a lot
more fun to race now, but still nowhere in comparison to ICR in realism. The
new version will most likely be a LOT better, but so will ICR2.

Probably because it predated IndyCar by something like 18 months.

Anyway as a simulation of competing in a Motor Racing Series (in terms of
atmosphere and all the details like getting to see everyone's lap times),
I still think that F1GP / WC has the edge over IndyCar.

Well, if you are looking for eye candy, go for Indycar or Nascar.

Yes, in the sound fx and graphics department, but not on the gameplay
department. World Circuit is much more fun to play with, since its
difficulty level can be easily configured from extremely easy to
somewhat competent (it _is_ too easy without the editors, which enhance
the computer controlled car performance). Indycar Racing has a rather
steep learning curve and quite frankly I didn't bother learning it.

No.

Because it has LOTS OF EXCELLENT GAMEPLAY.

I am constantly amazed by people who judge a game from what it looks
like...look at Slicks; it looks AWFUL, but it plays just wonderful.

Anyway, since you seem to be a person who wants his games to be SVGA,
require 10000000000000Mb to run, take 100Gb hard disk space, require
a Pentium 1000000000Mhz and require a 100Mb video card, why don't
you go for Nascar Racing, or the upcoming Indycar Racing II.

World Circuit II is also expected to be released this autumn, look
at the screenshots at http://www.racesimcentral.net/(the pics are somewhere
there). None of the screenshots show a***pit view though, so I'm not
sure if the screenshots are from actual gameplay.

25 fps on 486, playability, fun, and it's F1.
Try and draft in Indycar and avoid bumping em.

Why should everything be so god damn easy? And btw successful slipstreaming in
IndyCar isn`t hard at all.

Amen to that! I too get tired of the complaint about a learning curve!
Heaven forbid that people might have to think about things and not get
instant gratification!
