this is just my opinion so don't flame me.  but motocross madness is a lot
of fun.  the demo requires a 3d card (not sure if the full vers. will) but
they are learning slowly how to make a good game.

this was just my opinion

I think the only games Microsoft makes are things like Solitare and
Minesweeper. If you look at all their other titles, they are made by
someone else... Rainbow Studios in the case of MXMadness.
Microsoft is the publisher. MXMadness could just as easily have come
from Activision or GT Interactive.

It IS a scary envirornment here (on r.a.s.), eh Joe?  However, in your
brief, susinct post, you nailed a point on the head about this and ANY
sim that perhaps we all need to remember. I quote:

And that Joe, is the bottom line. Regardless of the sim, or the supposed
"physics model", etc, this is all that's important! Glad you're having
fun.  As for myself, seeing that I'm an overweight,
getting-too-old-but-still-doing-it trail bike rider, I just may have to
take a look at Motocross Madness. It could be that I can play that
game/sim/fill-in-the-blank and relive my former days of motorcycling
glory!

Fun is as important as anything else with these games. You say slowly, so I
guess you missed the release of Monster Truck Madness2. That is the most
pure fun I've had yet with any sim/game. Try the demo. There's a huge MTM2
community, and many new tracks and trucks are being created. Try my track
too (Swiss Alps).  :-)

Hey! What's fun about it? Tell us more. The demo is fairly big, some details
would be great.

Real close racing, surprisingly good AI for an "action" game  (they'll
move if you try to to ram or stuff them in corners).
Lots of tracks -there are about 40 tracks, plus a track builder.

There are a couple things that could use work, like the on-bike view,
which snaps from leaned to vertical too quickly, no replays, and lack
of even semi-realistic slides, but given the sheer amout of good stuff
in the game, they don't hurt it's value.

There has been more talk in the rec.games.action group. You can find
more in-depth comments there.
