GP3? I mean really...

OTOH, look take a look at ourselves. Everyone in R.A.S keeps going on about
GP3, more and more people hear about a 'Secret' game that is expected to be
the best racing sim ever! Whilst they keep it quiet, they can work on a game
that we are already creating a reputation for.
We are doing Hasbro's/Microproses' Marketing for free!
When/if the game does come out, everyone will know about it, saving MProse
and hasbro mega bucks on advertising! <g>

Just an idea ;-)

You know, marketing in RAS does not necessarily generate big enough
revenues for the developers - see GPL...;)

The vast majority of game developers couldn't care less what is discussed in
RAS as it is a very miniscule percentage of their target ($) market.

After all this hum about E3, has anybody *any*  reliable news about GP3?

I drilled every  Microprose person I could find at E3 about it and they
wouldn't tell me squat. In fact, 90% acted like they didn't even know what I
was talking about. Hmm..

Same here.  One guy just acted like he didn't know what
I was talking about (and he did seem clueless).  Another
guy was, in my judgement, in a position to know something.
When I asked him, all he said was "shhhh".  I still don't
know what that means.

Well I think were all going to make the safe assumption that it indeed exists.

GP3? I mean really...

After the GP2 farce, people were too ready to slate Crammond / Microprose
for announcing release dates too soon only to have those dates put back time
after time. I think that they have learned from past experience about how to
get their fingers burnt and how their reputation was damaged by making one
too many false promises.

With this in mind, it is of little suprise that they are playing the cards
close to their chest and saying zip yet they are still slated by many here
for adopting this approach. I think it is time to let Mr Crammond just get
on with the job in hand and hit us all between the eyes when he is good and
ready (if at all).

I mailed HASBRO directly yesterday and asked about Grand Prix III. The (more or
less commercial-talk) answer that I got back said that GP3 was planned for
october 99. Now, I'm not holding my breath for that date :-)  , but at least it
tells me that Crammond _is_ developing GP3 right now. It's not vapourware.

All I can say is where do I send my money to pre-order. This looks like it
could top 'em all (even GPL !!!)  Awesome photo realistic graphics and the
detail on the cars is AMAZING !!!!   I actually thought I was looking at a
photograph when I first looked at this screenshot. From the looks of this it
must be ready to go gold anytime now. ;-)

My only objection is the "lens-flare".  I hate that effect!  I do not have
video cameras for eyeballs!  Looks amazing otherwise!

Is that a Hill in front of Shumacher? Or Frentzen and Irvine?
