Not quite. That is for 2 other fellas to do. I just trouble shoot all
sorts of PC in addition to my main sysadmin responsibilities.
In fact I believe there is no way DirectX impacts things going
on in a DOS window. That is why I asked for *REAL* proof.
I wanted to learn something new. Hey if anyone else has *REAL*
proof of this, go a head and post it. I'm genuinely curious.

Not quite. I'm not sure what NT systems you are used to***ing
around with. But that doesn't happen here. FWIW, I learned
everything about PC almost 10 years ago by setting up my home
PC for playing games. After that, NT is a piece of cake.

I didn't install direct x6 so GP2 is still working but ICr2 is going like
that and I have dx5 installed....

Because that is the type of guy that I am :-)

OK I thought so :-)

Many people offer thoughts. Many of which are also wrong. That is
why I figure someone needs to set the record straight. DX does not
impact any DOS games. Period.

W95 certainly alters PnP cards which may not work in DOS anyway.
There are many cases where you can play DOS games within W95
using W95's settings (including soundcard support). But this is much
different than DirectX (programming interface), as it is a system thing.

Believe it or not most peoples problems are easily explainable.
The problem is that for a 100% answer you need to be sitting
at their PC.

I understand what you are saying. You just never know sometimes.
But DIrectX does not affect DOS :-)
