Low Speed Turns in F1 2001

I have been trying to learn to handle the low speed turns better in F1
2001.  I'm wondering first what Throttle Assistance setting other people
are using.  I had been using Low after reading on a web site that Low
was considered by some to be most nearly equivalent to real world F1 car
traction control.  But I have found that on very low speed turns at some
courses like the hairpins at Catalunya or turns 2 and 3 at the  A-1 Ring
that it is still very easy to spin.  So I tried High and found that at
that setting I had very little acceleration coming out of those turns.
Out of curiosity I turned it off completely and found that even though
it was very easy to make a mistake without it, it felt like I could pull
out of the turns more strongly with it off.  The problem is that with it
off I absolutely cannot tighten the wheel angle beyond the apex of a low
speed turn without spinning.  Obviously you're not supposed to tighten
the wheel beyond the apex, but if you***up sometimes you have to.
Without throttle assistance if I***up my line and go wide the only
way to correct it without a spin is to back off on the throttle
slightly, which loses a lot of time.  Alternately, I can turn down the
differential lock, but that seems like a bad idea.  So I'm wondering how
other people are coping with low speed turns in this game.  Throttle
Assistance or not?  What are your differential settings?

Thanks,
Hal

Personally, I use no assistance what so ever.  It's a really good challenge
to drive without them.  I think Low throttle assistance is realistic for
today's TC.

If you haven't already, set your throttle axis sensitivity close to
100% and it should be easier for you to handle the cars at low speed.

That's odd.  I had it at 100%, and decided to back it off to the default
of 50%.  50% actually felt somewhat better to me.  Although now that I
think about it I had also finally gotten around to using DXDeadZone to
get rid of the dead zones on the throttle and brake axis the day before,
so maybe that was what really made the difference.

Low Speed Turns in F1 2001

F1 2001:  I am doing a Championship , and have arrived at Austria.
I too have a hard time, dealing with  the 'Goesser kurve' as you
describe it.
I have adjusted most of the setup parameters, but not the differential
lock,
which i've left at 35%. My throttle assisentence is set to low.
I find, the biggest problem racing the AI, is that they've simply got to
much
grip at certain highseeed curves, like the 'Niki Lauda' curve at the
Austria A1.

 Otto Nadolny.

go to high gear F12001 forum. There you'll find some tweaks.
