Did you skip any of the other 2.x updates?   V2.4 needs the previous
installs to work.  I 'assume' v3 will be fully stand alone.

2.x should all be compatible.  other whole number versions will not be.
so 1.1 is not good but 2.3 and 2.4 should be compatible...provided, of
course, that 2.4 has been properly updated with the previous 2.x updates.

Houston, we have a problem...

I loaded the TPTCC mod and the Silverstone track on the server.  However, I
don't know how to make it switch to the mod remotely.  I can't just run N2k3,
since there's no CD in the drive.  So, the PlayerPicker program won't run.  Had
I realized that earlier, I could have brought the CD to work, run N2k3, and
switched.  I assume it would work then.  D3Mons runs, but it only selects the
Cup cars.  Ideas?

I upgraded from v2.1, which, according to the site, should have been
possible.

I'll back-up the cars and try a fresh v2.3 install later.

Eldred, DeMONS allows you to select any mod that is currently installed
in the sim on a race-by-race basis.

Make sure that:

1) The tptcc mod is indeed installed on the server

2) You're running the latest version of D3.

Thanks for the reply, John.  I had an older version of D3 installed.  Testing
the new version now...

Ok, that was it.
Server is set to start at 10am.
Server: RAS
Password: ras

I'm using an old RASCAR invite list just in case any previous drivers just
happen to see the server in the racelist.

Well I for one WATCHED and absolutely ENJOYED this F1 race! Just poking some
fun Jan. ;)
This years French G.P. was one not to be missed by any true Formula One fan!
All but 2 cars made it to the checkered flag. Well done! I hope you all
enjoyed the great efforts of some of these amazing athletes as I did.
I wish I could take part in this Full-Length GP today. It sounds like great
fun. I look forward to reading some of the accounts from this one. Good luck
to you all! ;)

***y aweful TV coverage of the race. What happened to the theory
that local directors were no longer in charge of the TV cameras? It
was frustrating to have to listen to the ITV commentators remark on
the mid-pack racing that was going on, all the while seeing prolonged
shots of the blue car being chased by the red car, and then vice
versa. Only at the end of the race did we really see any other cars.

As to Eldred's race: six started. Neil's steering wheel died on him
early on in the race and that left just five of us. I was lapped
about fifty times by Dave <only a *slight* exaggeration>. I chased
Jan for a bit, but every time I started to make any progress, I'd get
bored and toss the car off into the weeds. I tried catching Eldred a
few times too (after he lapped me!), but ended up visiting the lawns
too many times to have any better luck there.

Dave won. I came last (still a top 5 finish!). I'm not sure how it
broke down between the two extremes.

On a personal note: this was the very first of Eldred's full-length
races that I have ever finished. I still remember having terminal
brain fade during one of his Nurburgring races when I forgot entirely
where the corner went, and prepared for a 3rd-gear left-hander when
the corner was, in fact, a 2nd gear right-hander. I went over a fence
a way, way, way across the fields. Broke the front suspension in the
process. I think that was lap 2. <sigh>

No problem

Quite!! -It's the racing fan perspective I'm worried about.

Only one mechanical failure, actually. Though Minardi can't be blamed for
fielding the well funded Baumgartner.

I enjoyed the race for 1st position on a tactical level, but from a
spectator point of viez, the French director didn't show the right pictures.
BORING!!

It was. Can you provide a good reason not to have participated (offending
realtives is not a valid reason)?

My comments in reply to Darryl.
