SCGT and Savage 4 32 MEG from Creative

Just put in a Savage 4 32 MEG Card from Creative to replace my TNT 16 MEG.
The card rocks. Can now run D3D at 1024 * 768 no slow down. Before it was
640 * 480 in either TNT or my Voodoo 2 12 MEG. Both slowed if you ran it
higher and this is on a PII 400 with 128 MEG of 100 MHZ RAM. Very impressed.
At half the price of the TNT2s it comes pretty close to what we may expect
from these next TNT cards. I suspect an Ultra TNT2 will be better but as I
said it will be twice the price. Also off subject but X-Wing Alliance also
runs so smooooth at 1024 *768. Very impressed with this card. AND I got a
free t-shirt and full version of Thief The Dark Project and that's not a bad
game at all.

How much did you pay for the card? I don't know that it's HALF the
price of a TNT2 when TNT2 in 32MB can be had for around $350 and I was
sure the Savage4 was around $280.......and you can buy a Voodoo3-2000
for that price, and overclock it up to 166Mhz and have lightning fast
games in all resolutions.

FWIW, I run SCGT with my TNT and Voodoo2 at 800x600 with no worries,
I'm not sure why you had to run 640x480.
