i see people complaining about the performance they are getting in N4 (and
about the driving feel of the sim, but thats for another post), but here's
me, running an OLD AMDk6-200 with 32 megs of ram, a v3-3000 pci card, an isa
awe64 card, an isa 33k modem, and im driving 189s online.

8-15 fps.....all i need

about the driving feel, n4 seems ok, you can have the rear hard as nails and
spin you around every time you hit the gas out of corners, or you can have
it so that gas induces controllable drifts, but dont go too far, nascars
dont like to be thrownd around

I used to play Quake2 on a 133 with an old crappy rendition card,... I
thoght I was having a pretty good time. Then I broke down and bought a real
computer and decent video card.

My enjoyment of the game increased 10 fold...
You can get a celeron or p3 fairly cheap now, do youself a favour and trade
up.

I hope you're not racing online with that setup or at least not with me. You
probably warp all over the place, not to even mention how poorly that setup
would estimate where the other cars really are.

I think if you ever saw what 40fps was like you would change your mind.
15fps isn't even half what you need, 8 is a slide show.

Have around 15-20fps and doing 191's and did a 156.7 at dover. But with
no detail at all, nothing, and at 1024x768. The lack of detail doesn't
bother me the least. As long as there are some turn in points and
braking markers it is all good.

I still say N4's tire data/spin physics are flawed.... You can throw the
car around, just don't counter steer but turn sharper instead, even with
32:1 steering ratio which is about 5 degree's of steering lock. ;)
