KAHN and Nascar2: WOW!

by corn » Sat, 28 Dec 1996 04:00:00

Just had my first experience with Kahn .092 and Nascar2 with a dude name
Eventide. Wow, what an awesome connection. Our latency was .25 seconds
not real good but not bad either. We raced at Talladega and at 200mph
there was VERY little warping at all. Much less warping than with Kali.
I was spending most of my time drafting off his tail and his car was
right in front of me solid as a rock and didn't even jump around!

I was using Kahn95 and Eventide was using Kali DOS, so I think If I had
been using dos too the connection may have been even better.

We then went to C***te and added 2 extra cars and there was very
little warping at all again.

This new Kahn version .092 really works well. I like it much better than
Kali, however there are hardly ever any Nascar2 driver on it! Come on
people! This rocks! There will soon be a wheretorace kahn server up and
running if my sources are correct so maybe then you guys will switch
over.

The greatest part about kahn is that it is free with no time limit. And
Norman Bright (kahn creator) is very attentive to pleasing his game
groupies like Nascar2 drivers. He's already working on making it better!

Come now and get Kahn at www.teleport.com/~nbright

I must admit that Myself and another driver used kahn the other day for
a little test session and although the latency wasn't any better than
kali there was less warping with 4 cars and it was still playable with
10 opponents. Quite possibly we could set up some test times and see
how it works.

RE:
I agree it is fast, but let's give credit where it is due. Yes it is
"free" and "no restrictions" but lets not just be a bunch of moochers, pay
the $15 and register it!

Also, coughing-up the $15-bucks is a great way to say thanks for all
the programmer's hard work...  :)
