N2 Arcade: Faster times?????

by ymenar » Mon, 07 Apr 1997 05:00:00

I was trying a race at Loundon in the Arcade (yeah I know ]-:   ).  I
was wondering if it is normal to make time faster than in simulation
mode.  I was thinking that the only thing changed between the Arcade and
Simulation mode was the opponants strengh.  I WASN'T using any kind of
hack program and I DIDN'T modify the track.txt files.  I'm not the IVGA
type of guy :)  .  I ran a 159.457mph (23.886sec) lap in a race and i
think it's WAY not normal.

That's how I made a really fast conclusion.  I somebody choose the
Arcade mode to do lap record he will have better time than in Sim mode.
I know that we all know this but I was wondering if there's a way to
know that you're running this lap in Arcade or Sim mode.  Thanks a lot,

Good race at the Brickyard, (Old'Indytrack guy in rec.autos.simulators)

I believe there is super-traction in arcade mode.

Arcade mode changes the driving physics - making the car stick to the track
better.  Therefor, you can turn faster laps in Arcade mode than in
Simulation mode.
