Any one try the arcade mode yet?  It says in the manual that the cars will
slow down or speed up depending upon your skill level.  I raced at Atlanta
and the AI cars were turing laps over 200 MPH.  Needless to say I was
lapped after 5 or 6 laps.  Is this a bug?  Or am I imagining things?

This is not a bug.....

It seems the had time to put the Speed up feature in, but not enough
time
for the Slow down feature.

I'm having the exact same problem. With arcade mode I get my doors
blown off everywhere, even at the short tracks like Martinsville.

If arcade mode worked as described in the manual it would be a good
way (for those of us who need it) to learn the ropes and practice with
other cars on the track.

What gives Sierra? I can't believe a bug this obvious could have
slipped through, if that's what the problem is.

Saw the same kind of 'enhanced' performance at Bristol, where the AI cars
were over 15mph faster than I was.  Changed over to "realistic" and could
keep up using the 'easy' settings and 99% OPPS.

What was your opponent strength setting? (This is the baseline, from
which the speed changes are computed...)

Did you go on to complete the race? They will start out faster than
you. As the race progresses, they will adjust their speed, and you
should begin to catch them. At 100% opp strength, they will however
humble you most everywhere at the drop of the green flag. As the race
progresses, you should be able to catch them (at least at the lower
opp strength ratings.)

---Jim Sokoloff, Papyrus

PS: I'm pretty sure that you should be able to lap Atlanta over 200
MPH as well...
