Nascar- Arcade Mode

I have been racing Nascar for about 2 months and always use the Arcade
wide view.  I was wondering if most drivers use the***pit view - I seem
to crash more with this view.  I was wondering if I should get used to the
***pit view due to the Multiplayer Network that may be coming.  I haven't
modem raced yet- but I've heard you can't pause to check fuel, tires, etc
and I imagine the Multiplayer Network would be the same.  Does anyone have
an opinion on which is the best method other than the fact that a true
simulation is the***pit view.

                           Thanks

I use the arcade view (not the wide angle one, though). I can recover out of
spins and loose conditions easier this way and I get a little bit better view
of the traffic ahead. Plus I like seeing more of the surroundings as well as
my own race car (I didn't spend hours with paintkit for nothing!). The really
bad thing is pausing everytime I want to check fuel, tires, etc. and flipping
to***pit view (something fixed in Indycar II). So it's less realistic and I
don't get as good of a frame rate. I just have more fun racing with that view.

You folks who prefer the arcade view....don't you use your
mirrors?

Yes, that's another thing missing from arcade view, but I usually have number
of cars heard down to 1 or 2 and I can usually hear if a car is sneaking up
behind me. From which side? Good question. But it hasn't been a big problem
for me.

Eeek.

The above one-word statement should make it clear.

Ahem.

Yes.  You'll need to learn to use your mirrors or be cast out and beaten as
small as the sand of the earth.

Correct.

Correct

As long as you can stay aware of what around and especially BeHind You...use
any view you wish but I think you'll find that***pit view allows you best
use of the mirrors.

I had a similar conversation with a housemate when wee played linked up.
He said that he felt it was a bit easier driving in Arcade mode but our
finishing records sorted that out.

10 races, I finished 7 (3 firsts, 2 seconds and 2 thirds), he finished 3
(2 last places and 1 4th).

With regards to checking tyres and setting up pit stops, I've always
thought pausing was a good way to learn but took something away from the
skill involved. If you can't drive a track with one hand on the controls
you're either ***or setting controls wrong, (the exception is MAYBE the
road courses).
