NASCAR 2 Driver Randomization

Does anyone know of a program to vary the driver skills from race to
race?  There's one by a Tom Hansen that I downloaded from a couple of
different sites but it doesn't seem to work, much like his NASCAR 1
randomizer didn't work. If anyone can figure out how to make this single
downloaded file, YADR2.EXE (an executable, not self-extracting), work,
please let me know.

Um, I never understood the people that wrote these "randomizers" as ICR2
and NACAR1 & 2 have them built in.  Perhaps I am missing something?

If you want the drivers to be completely random between races, then just
set Min values to 1 and Max values to 999.  That's about as random as
you'll get since the program will pick a value between these two numbers
automatically every time you run it.

If that's not what you mean by random then I guess I don't understand.

Try N2stgrid available at www.theuspits.com

A lot of people, me included, like their season to somewhat parallel
the real NASCAR standings and therefore change the skill settings
every race. Setting the values from 1 - 999 would make for a
terrible race.

What I have success with is starting all drivers at min's of 100 and then
starting with a max of 560 (for Jeff Gordon or whoever's leading the
real-life WC points standings), go down the standings and drop each driver
down by 10. I get some unpredictable qualifying results and over the course
of a season, the top drivers float to the top, yet don't finish in the same
places every race. The bottom drivers never win (which they don't anyway),
but the middle of the pack gets a decent shot at a win occassionally.

The only problem is the aggression ratings. The way it is now, passing on a
shorter track is at times suicidal. I will try starting the max at 300 and
using 5 point increments.
