N99: champ season scewup!?!?!

When I select a new season..truck/busch/winston, I hit race for the
first race of the season.  That's fine and dandy, but it doesn't give me
the option of practice/qualify/warmup.  It simply starts me in last
place and when I finish the race, it doesn't record anything in the
standings>!??!?  Whats up with that!
I am using the DOS version (so I can play LAN games also..anyone else?

Sounds like you have the game setup for Arcade mode. In this mode, you don't
qualify. Select realistic instead of Arcade...

Check and see if you are in Arcade mode. That might be the problem.

Also make sure that Race Weekend is set to Basic rather than Testing.
