Ok, all you brainiac's.  I've been living with this for several years, and
I'm fed up with it.  I need idea's...

How DO you turn off that GD registration Nag-Screen that comes up in Quicken
when you launch it ?

I don't WANT to register.  I'm TIRED of registering it.  I've REGISTERED the
GD thing at least 10 times already.

Everytime I have to rebuild my system, I have to satisfy this things
insatiable desire to be registered with the Mothership!

And now, it's even worse.  This time, it wanted to FORCE me to create an
online account with Intuit to finish the registration.  That is the last
straw.  I wanna rip it out of there by the roots.

Registry hack anyone?  DLL Mangle of any kind?

Thanks.  I feel better now.  At least until I enter my checks for the day :(

For heavens sake, all I want to do is manage my checking register without
being pestered by these people.

Second question.  Does Microsoft Money have Product Activation?

I dont use Quicken Larry but I do use Quickbooks Pro.  QBP is a two number
serial.  The first you enter as you install QBP the 2nd you need to use the
"Phone support" option but instead of calling in you use a reg number
supplied from Intuit from the original install.  Do you have a "phone
support" option?

The best solution is probably to shell out the cash for it.  That's why the nag
screens are there :-)  (We do that on purpose, just to annoy you :-P)

My version doesn't do that.  I've copied it over to 3 different hard drives as
I've upgraded.  Not a peep.  Of course, I'm still running Win98se...guess it
works better for this...   :-P

My *legal* copy of Quicken also does this each time I reinstall it to a new
OS.  It's irritating.

Yeah, but I'm tired of doing that :)

I want to end it alltogether.

Thank you.  That's my point.

My copy is LEGAL too.  The other guy just wasn't using his head and said
something very stupid.

But if you're doing an install, that's what it's SUPPOSED to do, innit?

Ok, let's try this again :)

Quicken 2002 does NOT use a serial number, activation, or any other such
thing.

It does nag you to _register_ the software (an optional thing with just
about every other software company) forever at startup unless you do so.

I used to live with it.  I'd do it, just to get it over with.

But now they have changed the registration.  You are _forced_ to sign up for
an online Intuit account for your 'online banking', which I don't give a
Rats-Ass about, if you want to complete the registration.

I just want to get rid of the registration nag-ware.  It is NOT required to
use the software at all.  It's just a pain in the ass.

:)

Is this something you can configure a spreadsheet program to do?   I did
take a look at an old Quicken accounts package and decided I could do a
whole lot better, with more control and add more features when needed,
if I just set up a spreadsheet prog. to do the same.  It took a little
time to set up, but it suits my needs.  :)
