New ASUS GeForce 3TI 500/F12001 locking up - driver advice saught

Hi Chaps brum brum...

Decided to raid the kids piggy bank and dump my Voodoo 3000 for a brand
spanking new ASUS GeForce 3 TI 500. Installed it no probs....mundane things
like surfing working ok. Bought F12001, installed it, patched it 1/2 but
suffering lockups after a few minutes play.

Tried the latest DT drivers but still get lockups, tried some others but
still locking. So I'm using the drivers straight out of the box again - not
sure what rev these are. Funnily enough these give me a much better 3d2001
benchmark than the latest ones....go figure.

The cards in a ECSk7S5a mb, using 4*AGP, 512mb ram and powered with a 300w
psu. Gizmo that comes with the board says my voltages and on-board fan are
fine and within limits.

SO can anyone recommend any DT drivers that are rock solid.

Oh...and I've tried reading the various forums and noticed people going on
about something called an "infinite loop" which causes systems to
freeze...could this be my prob?

It sure is a little frustrating as F12001 is quite excellent and visually
outstanding when it does work.

TIA

Ian.
