       The Virtua LeMans guys have already done that for F1 2k1.  It's
called the 3.5Litre Group C mod.  They also have done a LeMans 99 with
Toyota/Bmw and some new company to Endurance racing, Audi.

   THere are several historic F1 mods for 2k2 already in progress.  Thrasher
is working on an 80's era and SIMBIN...yes those guys...are planning on a 79
era mod(the black JPS Lotus and the noseless Ferrari's).  And I think
recently somebody wanted to mod up the mid 90's to display the Williams team
at their peak.

  THAT is a must have.  High Winged sports cars with open displacement
engines.  Of course after 5 minutes the field will all choose the Porche
917x so maybe that one could be accidentally ignored. :)

   ack!   the Yellow Scourge, the Yellow Menace.  The yellow car that is
built outside of GTS rules and then whines when the Saleen does the same.!!!
:)   If you want to see Ron Fellows and company, the SSM mod...now renamed
LeMans 2k2 is the place for you.  And for F1 2k1 there is the RSDG
SportsCarPak. (SCP)
   The 'reason' there is no C5 in the GTR mod, is that the Corvette team
does not participate in the European FIA series which is what GTR mimics.
The team plans, from what I've read, to include some extra cars that ran the
SPA 24hour race but that was an FIA event.  A quadruple points event that
led to the triumph of the Viper over the faster but more fragile Ferraris
for the season and driver championships.

The 3.5Litre Group C mod doesn't sound like the era I lust after, if they're
doing Le Mans 1999.  I long for the days when the Mulsanne Straight was just
that, not a dizzying series of chicanes, and the blatty Mazda rotary (an
IMSA invitee, if memory serves) could be heard all the way to Marseilles.

Black Lotii and rhinoplastied Ferraris sound great; sign me up.

Maybe the C5R doesn't run in the same class as GTR's bolides, but it runs in
the same races (Le Mans, Daytona...come to think: where's Daytona?).  All I
know is what I see on TV.  I'd be happy to see the cheater Saleen, too, or
even the double-ugly Panoz roadsters, anything but that pig of a Marcos.
(Let me see if I got this straight: the Corvette isn't a production car but
the Marcos and the Lister are?)

As I indicated, to avoid getting buried by Penske's Panzers (or the Bruce &
Denny Show), a Can-Am mod would be better served by leaving these cars on
the trailer (or in the virtual transporter).  The Can-Am was a great series
before first the McLaren M8Bs (I'd guess I'd have to allow the non-winged
version) and then Donohue's 917K flattened the opposition (I guess I'd allow
the earlier 917 coupes, too).  But I draw the line at the Chaparral "sucker"
car.

Hell, I'd be happy with Ford GT40s, Chaparral 2Ds, Porsche Flunders, and
Ferrari 330Ps!

  The LM 99 mod is separate from the 3.5l Group C.  Which has
Mazdas/PoohJoes/PurpleJags/Merceds/&red Toyotas.
drivers like Eddie Irvine, some kid named Villenueve.   Another no-name
Schumacher.
   YEROPEEON  Steve....This is the FIA GT series.   NOT alms or even LeMans.
Although many of the cars do race there.  The C5R(or GTP as we like to call
it) is IN the same class as these cars...money can buy you anything...but
the Vette ONLY goes to Europe once a year for LeMans.  So, since the modders
are building a mod based on the FIA GT SERIES then the vette(note no-caps)
doesn't make the roster.  If Pratt & Whitne...err  Pratt & Miller want to
Pony up the Euros and campaign a full season over there, THEN you might
convince the SIMBIN crew to include the Canadien Rocket.
  Can't you run down to your corner dealer and buy a Marcos or Lister?  Gosh
if you couldn't...wouldn't that be...wrong....kinda like driving while
*** onto the roof?   (dang!  slamming everyone today!)

       Wouldn't it be fun to drive..???  probably just port over the current
F1 physics for downforce.

   My very first Gas Powered car was a Chaparral 2c.  Open top, floppy wing,
Everytime I saw the BMW LMR I thought of that old CHappy.  Hey...did ya see
Ford can't sell the GT 40?  they don't own the rights to the name...it will
be the GT.  Whooooo
