And I don't mean, necessarily, actually throwing up, but one that really
gave you the feeling of speed..

CART Precision Racing. Sadly a lot is lacking in that sim, but the
feeling of speed in the roadcourses are great. F1RC aren't too bad either.

Grand Prix Legends; not the first time I ran it, but the first time I
realized I was running the trainer class :).

Watching replays or watching someone else race at the Ring on GPL. I
just can't do it! After one lap I get teh classic Doom headache and
want to puke.

(All spelling errors are intentional and are there to show new
and improved ways of spelling old words. Grammatical errors are
due to too many English classes/teachers)

Slightly off topic:
I understand that the Volkswagen driving simulator (in Germany) was
very good at generating simulator sickness, but this is second hand info.
A www search for "simulator sickness" should turn up some interesting hits.

How about in a real car?  Never thrown up, but been very close on
several occassions, usually while trying to take notes on a clip
board...while someone else is doing some aggressive test driving.  Or
trying to read the route instructions on a rally (I found out that I'm
a poor choice for navigator<grin>).

lol!

Luckily, I don't get that....

When in flight training, I had to do "hoodwork" - wear a hood to block outside
views so I could only see the instrument panel - loved every second of it, and
we even has one really turbulent day.

My instructor (like 70 years old, not exaggerating) said he could fly all day
like that - but as soon as he gets on a boat, he "chums."

One saturday, I sat down in front of my wheel to practise Zandvoort in GPL.
I was gonna do a full GP in the evening the same day, and was not consistent
at that track. I decided to put in some hours of practise to build up
consistency.

I practised for 10 hours at that track. In the end I felt car sick.

When my league race started 12 hours after I started practising, I felt so
car sick that I had to bring out a bucket, just in case of "accident". I
could very well be loosing my dinner during the race.

Sadly, my connection broke down during the race, and I discoed. The positive
side to the disco is that if I had not discoed, my dinner could have ended
up in the bucket..

This was a strange experience.

When the Sega master system came out with the x32 add-on...there was a
driving game...can't recall the name....but that would make most people
either toss their cookies or bleed from the eyes... fun game tho'

:)

Interestingly enough, I do not experience any type of motion sickness with
either racing or flying sims.
However, put a first person shooter in front of me, and I'll upchuck within
30 minutes.

Some people do nothing wrong.
The problem is, they do nothing.
And THAT is wrong.

Do you think if you programmed the First Person Shooters to use a wheel
instead of a mousee you would NOT get sick...the wheel is something you can
hold on to...something you can balance yourself with against the motion of
the game...
but also...don't most of the games like halflife have an option to disable
the head bobbing up and down motion they try to simulate???

Don't know, never tried that but it's a thought.
I haven't tried enough of them to know about disabling head bobbing, I gave
up on them some time ago. I hated feeling so nauseated. I guess I could take
some pills for it if I wanted to try them again.
