Where can u get the 5.2 version, i just have the 5.1a version.
Also, is there a significant performance difference (ie frame rate)
when used with indycar 2?
Thanks alot,
Brian

You can find it at the SciTech Software home page at:

I have an ATI Mach64 and have found no increase in frame rate with
ICR2 or US Navy Fighters, which has a frame rate indicator. I
believe, however, that the problem is with my video card and not
with the Display Doctor (that's what they call Univbe nowadays).
I had some correspondence with the tech department when the beta
was out and they seemed genuinely puzzled by my lack of performance.

This may be a little off topic, but I have a Graphics Pro Turbo PCI card and I
have seen no performance increase with UNIVBE (I have tried both version 5.1
and 5.2) either. In fact, V5.2 actually slows down Whiplash when it fades the
Whiplash logo screen in and out while its loading data between races (this
does not happen with ATI's VESA driver). ICR2 (as well as others) runs just
fine with M64VBE. If your card has a problem then mine must
have the same problem also :).

First, yes I agree there seems to be no real world increase using univbe
5.1 or 5.2 with the ATI Mach64. However, there is an increase when one
does the profile.exe that comes with SDD52 or univbe51. Have you
checked out the new univbe driver from ATI? It now supports vesa 2.0.

Is this an ATI driver? I mean, does ATI have a web page that I can
go to and download this driver from?

Yes. Yes (http://www.atitech.ca/index.html)
Or you can check their ftp site: ftp://ftp.atitech.ca/pub/support
