gp2 and .jam editing

To make a long story short, I can't figure out how to get my custom .bmp
car files to show up in gp2.  I converted the ferrari.jam file to a .bmp
file, and just to see if it worked I turned the car all red, deleting all
logos and sponsors.  Then I saved the .bmp, and converted it back to a .jam
file in the gamejams directory, overwriting the old ferrari.jam.  Then I go
into the game, and I'm still driving the Marlboro car instead of the blank
red car I made.  What am I missing?

You must have a complete harddisk installation. If not, GP2 is reading the
jam-files from the CD, even when they had been copied to the gamejams
directory.

Hope this helps.

This happened to me too. What I done was deleted EVERY file to do with
GP2 and completely re-installed it with a Full installment (68meg or
something). Actually the main reason why I reimstalled it is because
those "phantom replays" happened inevery replay I had. so I could'nt
see the originals:(
