1- in some menus the keyboard won't work. The FAQ for support says to use
the controller. Yeah right, it's annoying to have to use the wheel for
everything, and it's seemingly random. Sounds like bad coding to me.

Is this going to be, like, an episode thing?

PS.: Seeing as just about each CMR game has been worse than its predecessor
in terms of a PC Racing game, you should have seen this particular
disappointment coming a couple of special stages away, IMNSHO. <vbg>
Buy richard burns rally.... be happy :)

If you had longer list of things you don't like, I would recommend Richard
Burns Rally ;)
Alex.

Good point - the menus are the least of CMR05's shortcomings.
It does carry over a few "console" headaches (mostly confirmations) and some
items are not where one would expect them to be, but otherwise it's ok.
And it's all keyboard operated... at no point do you need to be moving your
steering wheel around to select an option, which was the OP's gripe.

Is this true for CMR 2005? I heard the physics model was revised in CMR
4- and having played them all, I do think it was changed substantially,
although I still get the feeling there might be some kid-gloves in there
somewhere.
Comparing Rally Trophy and CMR 04- CMR 2005, I think the physics for the
FWD cars (about all I drive) are roughtly similar. Maybe Rally Trophy has a
bit of an edge.

Are the physics that bad? They seem about on par with Need for Speed:
Porsche.
I don't think it really has "moon gravity". There's just some really big
bumps in some of the tracks.
The Escort in RT might also be a heavier car than the cars in Colin McRae
Rally. I know the Ford Escort MK I in CMR 2005 is alot more substantial
feeling than driving some of the smaller cars.
It would be great to be able to do testing of the physics engines with a
force feedback setup and see if anybody could figure out which simulator was
which- I believe I would have a harder time figuring out of the difference
between Rally Trophy and CMR 2005. Others might not. The Ford Escort MK I
in both games seems to handle very similar.
