Guys...

I think Jan Kohl (US Pits) is out of town for the weekend.....so that means
he won't post the Darlington track until he returns.

So, those of you who don't want to wait can grab it here:

delayed two hours.... <VBG>
I heartily agree Biz....if he cain't do a quicker job of it, we'll just
have to find somebody else with tons of free time, artistic talent, lot's of
desire, and a cable or satellitte TV connection.

LOL....

I would have had it finished yesterday.....but the dang Busch race didn't
use a camera angle that showed me the signs in Turn #1 (and Friday's
qualifying was rained out....so no TV telecast then either).  I couldn't
find anything about what they'd been changed to for this weekend.....on the
net in general.  Finally, late in the race (about 5:30 pm here)....they gave
me a view of the T-1 signs.  Unfortunately, it was then too late for me to
work on the track re-texture......until this morning!

I also wasn't as "pressed" as I might have been normally, because RASCAR
decided not to run Darlington this weekend, anyway.

Glad you like the track, Biz.  I wasn't too enthused about it
initially....but I really liked how well it turned out.  Now, its one of my
favorite tracks!

artist all the time!  About the time I get these N2K2 tracks the way I like
them.......N2K3 will be out!  Huh?

I hear they are going to run it (the Southern 500) under lights from
2004 onward.  Now Papy has an excuse to release NR2004, LOL.

No shit?  Darlington under lights....wow.  That would be one awesome race!

Darlington has really captured my interest running it since I did these
track graphics for it.  Its the only "oval" track that races like a road
course....in that you can't seem to ever do two laps back to
back.....exactly the same.  Even Phoenix and Pocono......often said to be
"ovals that race like road courses" are not as tough to duplicate
laps.....as Darlington.  I now have a huge amount of respect for the
"driving abilities" of those Cup drives who finished the Southern 500 on the
lead lap.  That's a major-league racing accomplishment....in my book.  Of
course, need I say what "respect level" I have for Jeff Gordon?  He "owns"
Darlington for the last five years or so!
