I haven't seen any GPL special utilities yet (other than for paint jobs).
What I'd like to see is a utility that works with setup files, but outside
the game. Mainly it would be nice to be able to print them out, and to move
specific settings from one car to another or from a downloaded setup. I'm
NOT looking for any cheats! Anyone hacked the setup file format yet?

Doug:

Nothing really special is required. In order to print the setup files, just
choose "Export" from the setup menu. The HTML file will be saved under the
export directory and can be printed from there.

In the case of setups for other cars, just change the extension. You'll note
that the Lotus, for example, has .lo1 for GP level cars, .lo2 for advanced
trainers and so forth. So if you want to be cool and drive an Eagle (good lad,
too damn many of those baby shit green machines around anyway), just change the
extension from .lo1 to .ea1 . Of course, the setups won't translate exactly,
different machines, weights, engines etc. but you can certainly do it.

Good Luck,
Joe

For a single or a few setups, okay. But for many, way too slow, and
too much mouse-clicking needed.
Just to print out all default setups to compare them, you would have
to do this for 7 cars and 11 tracks. Plus the different setups
available on the net.

A setup has only 264 bytes, and I should be relatively easy to analyze
the format and translate it into a simple ASCII-text rather than these
huge HTML-tables (waste of paper also).
