This should not be viewed as an attack on just the United States, but as
an attack on the entire civilized world.  The time is coming for the entire
world community to unite and fight against such cowardice.

>Man, just heard it myself. What the hell?? Who is doing this??

No one knows yet, but bin laden (sp?) is the most likely suspect. He's
the Taliban-habored terrorist believed responsible for the Cole attack
in Yemen and other attacks against US military targets. He recently
made statements about upping the ante to include major civilian
attacks. He is one of the very few people in the world with the
logistical and monetary cpabilities of orchestrating this attack.

P.S. - The Taliban is largely funded by Iraq. If this is who is
responsible, I expect the USA to declare war on Afghanastan and Iraq.

First of all I was astounded by the news, then shocked, and now
i'm kind of in a state of disbelief. I really hope everyone and
everyones family in this small nice community is safe, and my
condolences goes to those less fortunate.

I see a lot of people around newsgroups tonigt waging war, but really,
what good does it do to declare was against Iraq and Afghanistan ?
What kind of war ? Nuke them or bomb them back to stoneage ? What
about the innocent civilian people in those countries just trying to
make their day ? Yes, hunt down those responsible and punish them
properly, but I just can't support war in any way.

Looking back a Pearl Harbor - most of the US casualties were military personnel
however when we struck back we NUKED 2 cities killing millions of families,
women, kids, etc.  I doubt that when it comes times to strike back for this
attack we are going to do any kind of surgical strike.

It lets countries know that they can no longer harbor terrorists,
without also becoming responsible for the terrorist's actions. Simple
as that really.

If it was my choice I would restrain myself and just bomb them back to
the stoneage. But then I'm a peacable man by nature.

IF and only IF it can be proved that it's him, I hope they don't stop too
soon, like they did last time with Irak....

        Erm.  Right.  General idea.

We have a big military.  We can kill at will.

Small groups wanting to not just give in need to use what is
available.  On a different technological level, we did so at the start of
the revolutionary war.

Right?  Not a chance in hell.  But neither is military actions
against civilians.

I would park a squadron of Nukefilled B-52's just outside of Afganistan.
They would have 24 hours to deliver BinLadin.   The WORLD is probably very
lucky those who think like I aren't in charge.

Millions?  Not even CLOSE.  Probably about 70,000 in one city, and 100,000 in

two.

Besides, thousands of innocent civilians died this morning...

well, when you see the way those sebrs bastards made folls of EVERYBODY for
years (Karadzic and mladic are still at large) the idea of "brute force"
seems sometimes the best.

Negociations and discussions are always the best solution, but when the
other doesn't WANT to negociate or even talk, strength is the best issue.

Now america has known what REAL war is, i mean a war at home like Europe has
known twice in the 20th century, not making war abroad in Europe, in Korea,
Vietnam or Irak...

I really hope bush kicks ass.

  It is very simple.
To the people and goverment of X country.  You have 24 hours to deliver
Persons A B & C etc.  If not..you will all be attacked.

it is not pretty, it is brutal, but it may be the only way to get results.

Isn't that the way the former Soviet Union would have responded?  Notice there
weren't many terrorist attacks against them.  Maybe they had it right...

Hmm eldred...

Of course what happened to the US is REALLY terrible, but you can't really
compare in any terms,
170,000 dead vs 7,000
Two cities GONE vs a small (in size) part of one
Diseases spreading for YEARS (skin cancer and so on...)

Then you can say that there was an OFFICIAL war betwen Japan and the USA and
there was not one between Bin Laden and the USA, but please don't compare
things that are not really comparable...

This being said I really hope you finish the job this time, not like with
Saddam in 91...get the ***er and kill him.
