I consider myself a really bad driver. But today I finally managed to place
my Lotus in Monza on the first row of the grid (1:30:04 - nearly beat my
record of 1:29:88).
Got a decent start, kept third place. Right in the first lap, as I was
approching Parabolica, my Telephone rang.
Therefore: I hit the "Pause"-button. Right in the middle of Parabolica.
Got back from the phone, looked at my screen, thought to myself: "I'll never
will stay on the road!", gave it a try, and... stayed on the road. Still in
third place. Or so it seemed.
In the next lap; I was closing in towards Clark in second place. Finishing
lap 4, I was right behind him and really (I'm so f***ing proud of myself!!!)
passed him in the first Lesmo.
Started a replay. Totally stunned. In Lap 3 I beat my own record with a
1:29.87; BUT: GPL counted me on POSITION 20, although nobody had passed me.
As I watched the complete replay, I saw that GPL had any car passing the
Parabolica (where I had hit the Pause-button) also passing me!
Has anybody else experienced this? Or should I have known that you never
ever are allowed to hit the Pause-button within a race?
Disappointed -

Sounds similar to what happened to me the other day. I was leading the
'offline' race at Kayalami, when on the fourth lap I see on my pitboard that
I am 18th, and to add insult to injury, was getting blue flags waved at me!
Another two laps and  enough was enough, I packed in.  But on looking for
clues in the replay my position on the last laps could change from last to
first to somewhere in the middle of the field, all in one lap. Surely not
another 1.1 bug??? :-(

we had an online race a few days ago and I of course was smacked off and
since i was hosting....i watched the race from the view screen.......a
nice battle for first developed in our 9 lap Spa race....ferrari in
1st..eagle in 2nd....at about lap 5 the eagle passed the ferrari on the
last turn to take the lead......looking at the pit board.....the eagle
is placed a lap down.....what the heck is this?...during the next
lap....the race grid for first holds but a lap later just before the
final turn the ferrari takes the lead but loses it at the final corner
to the eagle again as it UNLAPS itself........crosses the line and
another peek at the lap board ....the eagle is placed back another lap
down....now's he's in the lead and 2 laps down......a very very serious
bug......please fix this PAPY...this is not racing.....

I'm glad it seems to be a very occasional fault. Mind you, I was driving a
Brabham in Guy Ligier's '67 colours, so maybe the track marshal's were
expecting me to be at the back of the field....;-)
