NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!! How come they can't stick a mic inside a
real racecar to come up with the .wav files for the game? That is the dumbest
thing I've ever come across. "Oh, we'll make the car pull to the left and
your tires will blow if you stand on the brakes but, the sounds for the cars
will be made with an electic razor in the shower."

I have been doing engine sound creation and editing since the days of N2.
N4 engines and sound FX are no different.....old stuff and easy to work
with. I also produced engines for Heat...and was a subcontractor for Ratbag
producing the official game engine sounds for DTR Sprint Car...and the
upcoming Leadfoot (stadium racing tracks).
Keep you eye on High Gear.....my soundpaks for N4 will be coming out soon.
New N4 "announcer" soundpak due up in a day or two. New engine sounds and
in-car FX (grass, gearship, wind, etc.) due up in a week or so....with
"choices" for engine sounds to suit different tastes...and sound
systems/sound cards.
Keep your eyes on High Gear for this stuff.....
