few laps (usually 2-3) and see how the car feels, how fast or slow the
lap times are and then I make some small changes to the setup. The
things I change the most in the setup are ARBs, springs and dampers.
Before changing those I try to get the tyre pressures right. On a new
track I usually put 19-20 psi to all tyres and then check the pressure
after doing the laps. My goal is to get all tyres to 25 psi when hot.
Well, except Monza and Spa where I might add a click or two more
pressure. Camber is also something I change before moving to another
settings. With the front tyres I aim for the inside edge to be just a
bit hotter than the outside edge and vice versa with the rear wheels.
What else... gear ratios are pretty simple. I try to find a suitable
gear for every corner of the track. Bump ***s I try to keep at 1
inch. I'm not so sure about toe-in, I don't really feel a difference
when changing it.
Those are the basics. If you have other questions please ask. :)
