My office machine can't "see" the paddles when the GP1 is connected to
the CH pedals, I use the buttons for shifting.

Interestingly enough, I believe I did have it working with both the
pedals and the paddles funtioning together at home... the only real
difference is that the home machine uses an old Soundblaster16 and the
office box uses an Ensoniq AudioPCI... I wonder if the gameport on the
Ensoniq is not 100% standard...

Soundcard clones have their problems, but I don't think they will***
up the game port ;^)

You have to use a user defined joystick setting in Win95 (4-axis, 4
buttons),
then it really should work...

Too each their own.  But, I prefer to "stick" with a wheel over a stick
for this very reason.  I think that using a wheel is more realistic.
The small travel of a stick makes for an "unfair" advantage that I feel
is "unrealistic".  This does not mean that I think those
using a stick are cheating, but I'm into racing sims because they
simulate racing cars and I haven't found an auto sim on the market that
simulates real racing cars that come equipped with a joystick for
steering.  Someday though..... ;-)

Hmm... I'm pretty sure I tried 4 axis 4 button, with the CH pedal switch
in both the "Plane" position and in the "Car" position... just said "Not
Connected" tho.

I just got back from a trip to Boston, my GP1 wound up staying behind
there... (My girlfriend's brother wanted it, and I've been looking for
an excuse to try my hand at building a wheel)
