Saitek Wheel?

Saitek Wheel?

Has anyone bought the Saitek R4 wheel? It looks decent.....digital,
adjustable wheel and pedal tensions, paddles and shifter. But looks
can be deceiving. Thanks for any feedback you can give.

Saitek Wheel?

Yes it does look good. I called Saitek to talk with someone about the wheel.
Supposedly if you are using DOS it will be seen as a normal 2axis-2button
joystick. The shifter is supposed to be the buttons. Will this really work
in DOS?
I have my doubts. He also said this wheel is essentially a MS FF in a Saitek
package. He also explained that the company chose MS's FF instead
if I-Force. He claimed they had more faith in Bill.

Since Best Buy does take returns I may try it. However whatever I
buy had better do all the FF features of F1RS.

Saitek Wheel?

Look for my posts elsewhere.  The Saitek is terrible.  I really like
the MS wheel, although I just bought it today.  Of course, I pretty
much knew the first day that the Saitek wasn't good, so... :)

OK. Then please explain why people with the MS FF wheel don't get all the
FF effects in F1RS? They claim just bumps & scrapes. F1RS has many
more subtle effects according to the readme.
