Is there a patch anywhere in the wther that will enable me to play Viper Racing
without the CD?  I realy want to head-to-head with my buddy, but only have one
retail version between us......

Thanks!

Just type  "-nocanary" at the end of  your desktop shortcut command line,
make sure you leave a space and don't use the quotes!!

Well, in this case the patch can be found in any retail stores around your
town.  Go buy a second copy if you love this game that much, so you can
install it on another PC.  Or else your hurting the sales at MGI, and not
helping them in the making of future titles that you would enjoy <g>.

Go to the MS-DOS Prompt and type
the path to the Viper Racing executable,
and then add at the end " -nocanary".
Works all the time for me.

Thanks all who responded -- and to those who bashed me for not buying another
copy -- I'm not willing to plunk down another $30 unless I am sure the
online/networked play is good enough to keep our interest.

If the friend doesn't have a computer, or doesn't have one FAST enough to run
the program, is MGI *really* losing a sale?  If running the game on a network
is the only time he plays it, then is any harm really done?

If you're going to get another copy go to http://www.outpost.com. They have it
for only $10 + free overnight s&h. I wish I had known about that when bought my
copy. :)
