Viper racing no-cd crack

by Johan Foedere » Sat, 23 Jan 1999 04:00:00

Hi all,

I just wanted to share something I found out. Yesterday I got Viper
racing so I invited a friend over to do some multiplayer racing today.
However when I installed Viper there was no remote install option. And
with only one CD, we were not going to be able to play Viper :-( Then my
friend had this crazy idea! He said: "Why don't we try and use the
executable of the demo on the full install?" At first I thought this was
absurd, but he was right about the demo not needing a CD. It couldn't do
any harm, so I tried it and guess what... It worked!!!!!

All you have to do to run Viper without CD is copy the executable from
the demo into the same directory as "viper racing.exe" and double click
it. How easy can it get?

Incredible. Since both of the files are from MGI does this make the
crack legal? heheh. Thanks.

There is also ordinary crack available for Viper.

I use no-CD cracks for two reasons:
- convenience of not having to swap CDs
- for multiplayer on 2 PCs that I have networked at home

In the last year since getting my 1st PC, I've bought many sims/games
including GPL, Viper, NR1999, SODA, CART, N2, GP2, TOCA, MGPRS2, F1RS, F1 97
CE, MTM2, Castrol Honda Superbike, MotoRacer, and even CPR.  I've since got
a 2nd PC and have networked them to play some of these with my son.

I think I've supported Sierra and others quite well enough.

>I use no-CD cracks for two reasons:

    I TOTALLY agree here... but...

I was planning on staying out of this thread, but the statement above
FORCED me to post <G>.  There is an alarming trend for people to rationalize
their pirating of software by saying they "bought a copy."  The copy you
bought can ONLY be run on ONE computer at a time!  If you have 2 computers
at home you want to run a game on, you HAVE to buy **2** copies of the game
(unless the game COMES with 2 CD's, or the licensing specifically states
it's okay).

I'm glad to see that you are (for the most part) legally buying your
software.  But even though YOU feel you've "supported Sierra and others
quite well enough" it doesn't give you the right to run two copies of one
game at the same time.

    Legally speaking....
