It's a tradegy you get the morons. I mean, when it's clean it can be really
something else! Alot of fun.

I don't think it'll ever clean up. With a sim like GPL, it's no longer
'fresh' so the morons have no interest in it. It's simply raced by a core
group of good clean racers.

N4 is a fresh new sim (comparitively) and will continue to be as Papy
release new versions every year - so the morons stay interested in runing
the good guys fun :(

Back in the N2 days, I was fed up with spending 3 hours trying different
online races and maybe 1 was actually fun.  I considered Monster Truck
Madness my only real online driving entertainment because you didn't
have to be clean.  A few years later, GPL came along and I joined the
Pro Racing Club.  Since then I've never looked back.

To avoid the morons online, join a league/club!  You don't have to wait
until the morons get bored :)

In the PRC, as new sims come along we create another division.  So far
we have GPLPRC and SCPRC (Stock Cars).  You bet when WSC comes out we'll
have WSCPRC and we'll have fun racing from day 1 after it's release.

http://www.proracingclub.com/
http://www.proracingclub.com/gplprc/index.htm
http://www.proracingclub.com/nascar4/TNGS/  <- GPLPRC drivers made their
own N4 series
http://www.scprc.com  <- N4 division of the PRC, accepts drivers that
are clean.  We split into Grand National and Cup series and it has
worked well.

Jason.

This is where I miss NROS the most.

You know what I miss the most?  The fact that when you did something GOOD in
NROS, it COUNTED for something.  Your wins were recorded.  Your top 5's and
10's were recorded.  Your Poles were recorded.  EVERYTHING was recorded.
Rankings seemed to mean a lot more too.

You could step back, look over your stat's, and get a certain 'warm & fuzzy'
feeling from your accomplishments.

THAT is what is missing in N4 online.  Sure, it tracks _some_ things, but
very little.  No win, pole, top 5 or top 10 tracking.

You do good?  There's nothing to show for it.  You do bad?  There's ALSO
nothing to show for it.

With NROS, you felt like you were really part of system that cared about how
you did, and it made YOU care about how you did.  Well, most of us anyway :)

Until the current N4 system is updated to provide this feeling of
accomplishment (and responsibility), then I don't think it will ever get any
better than it is.

Now, I'm sure someone will ring in with the usual "Join a League and shut
up!".  Well, if you have a normal enough schedule to be able to do this, I
envy you.  But, when your days last any where from 8 hours to 16 hours a day
(the IT business CAN be a ***), you can't shackle yourself to a fixed
League schedule.

With NROS, I could log on and find pretty good racing, with a familiar crowd
of folks I trusted, almost any day, 24 hours a day.

I would go back to a PAID system in a heartbeat if it provided the same
features, tracking, and sense of accomplishment that NROS provided.

What's the use in recording it, if there is a ***er waiting behind every
turn trying to take you out. Would be more like
survival-of-the-fittest-stats.
