Amazing....one of things I really miss when I open up RAS is the sound. I
always believed that the NG would be so much better with audio and now, this
miracle-worker has discovered the method!

Please, share your newfound knowledge with us!

Jeez John, with subtle comments like this, I'm not suprised some people
have had some difficulties handling them.

He has a valid point; all this (in)fighting ought to stop, or be moved
to some private (rascar) forum.  R.a.s. isn't exactly turning into the
lovefest it oughta be with catfights like this.

Guys, go have a stunt car race somewhere. It'll clear your head.

Could you qualify that statement please? I can understand Agent is not
suitable for every user, but it is superb at what it does, and I
cannot understand how you can call it tripe. What I think puts a lot
of people off is that the default settings of it are awful, and it
takes about half an hour to set it up to realise its potential.

Fer christ's sake Ruud, look at what he posted, and then continue to
wonder why I responded that way. He posted anonymously, and he posted
crap.  He's a buffoon.

Man, I couldn't agree with you more.

I bought it a long time ago, based on all the 'hype'.  It's the worst user
interface I've ever seen.

The damned thing can't even sort by subject and date!

Options/Preferences/choices (depending on what they tacked on and when) are
scattered across a myriad of menu's and sub-menu's, and the layout makes no
sense at all.

I quit using it years ago.

It largely makes sense to me. I agree its not the most elegant of
programs, but once I got it setup to my needs I rarely had to delve
into the options, its just given me years of stress free efficient
newsreading. By far the best bit of software I have ever bought.

Just doubleclick on the subject or date header :-/
Works only with Agent btw, not with Free Agent.

I agree with this one.. Agent is ***on many fronts but I tried every
single newsreader there is and the rest is even crappier too ( I CAN'T
imagine how anyone can work with newsgroups in Outlook..)

Andre

Perhaps you should give the latest version a chance then (you can use
Agent full version free for 30 days now).
