GPL: top 6 corners I crashed most

Just "burp" the throttle to keep the rear of the car under you, look down
the straight towards Tabac and floor it. Don't even look at the armco or the
hay bales. Just like when approaching a pile-up, you'll hit what you're
looking at, so keep looking at the gap and you'll put the car there. Leap of
faith, but it works.

I now have different problem... I carry enough speed there to seriously
destabilize the car when it crashes down on it's soft suspension through the
compression, so I have to hold back for fear of losing it on the exit. If I
stiffen it up I start compromising other sections and I haven't found a
compromise I'm happy/faster with.

Funny, I keep finding different places to stuff it at.

After two years of this chenanigans I have a pretty failsafe strategy for
most turns on most tracks... it's when I try pushing the envelope that
things start to go wrong. Maybe my "little bit faster" isn't "little"
enough.<g>

I used the arcade view to visualize where I should be placing the car
through the chicane.  Of course, switch back to***pit mode when you
understand how to approach it.

After owning GPL well over a year, I still haven't made a real effort at
Rouen and Silverstone.  I'll leave those out.

About half the turns at Nurburger.
Chicane  Monaco (Not a race track, IMO)
"Leap of faith" fast left had jog at Solitude
La Carriere, Spa.  Easy to blow if you're being pushed.
Although I seldom crash, I often goof up Malmedy, Spa.  A quick way to
wreck a good lap.
Same story at Mexican Esses.

These are my 5 worst corners in GPL.

1: Monaco chicane
2: Monaco chicane
3: Monaco chicane
4: Anywhere at Nurburgring
5: Monaco chicane

I get through the chicane at least once every 5 laps ;-)

Of course, the fun part with this one is that if you get bored and don't feel
like making laps, it's the best place to "practice" flips.

The best part of that corner is that it provided me the very first GPL
scare in the demo over two years ago. I still remember that first
lap. Slowly out of the pits, easy up the esses, and then hammered the
throttle on the straight. WOW! And then that *** corner turned up
mid air :D

Damn that crest!  Thankfully its been flattened out at the real track.

That's why I said switch back to***pit mode :-)  As a learning tool,
the arcade view can be benefical.

It's very simple - as you go over the crest and into the dip, the car
"unweights" (rather like when skiing) and therefore you lose grip.

The trick at this corner is to lift off the brakes as you go over the crest,
then immediately (but smoothly) get back on the brakes, and trail-brake into
the corner.

In any order...

1) T1, Mexico (90% of the time I wreck there)
2) T2, Mosport (Eh, 40% of the time there)
3) The right hander after the crest at Mosport (95% of the time!)
4) The corner right after the chicane at Monaco (always brake too late)
5) Parabolica at Monza (always seem to get out of shape or enter too deep)
6) The corner before the hairpin at Rouen
7) ALL of Rouen!
8) Big Bend, Watkins Glen (Whenever I go for a fast lap at least)
9) Masta at Spa
10) Every square inch of Silverstone!!
11) Same goes for Zandvoort!

Okay, that oughta be enough...  :)
