I hate '***Cam'.

I could still do some pretty good slides in-car :)

Even though I don't care much for console's, I will probably get a PS2 after
the rumored price drop, which probably won't happen until XBox's can
actually be purchased daily.

I've always been curious as to whether Microsoft is forcing developers in
certain ways when it comes to XBox games. For example, are they required to
release-first XBox, wait xxx time before releasing on PC, etc...

I'd like to see the developer agreement.

I owned an XBox for less than an hour, then took it back.  I determined very
quickly that it was a neutered PC, and I had three times the power sitting
on my desk in the office.  Yes, it would be better if you have friends over
for an afternoon of football, but other than that it didn't hit the spot.

I also didn't like the way EVERYTHING on the XBox was purposely made as
proprietary as possible.  Man, they REALY worked at it :)

GT3 or Gotham Racing for PC anytime soon?

While Project Gotham may not be a true sim., it is a blast.  I was mildly
impressed after the first hour or so but then purchased the High Definition
AV pack to hook up to my 55" widescreen HDTV - WOW.  The car models beat
anything I have seen on any other console or computer and the cars handle
great.  In addition, with the Dolby Digital sound though high end audio
gear, it makes for some serious fun.

I don't get hung up on the "but its not a true sim" stuff.  I have been
playing console games since PONG and computer games since the Atari 800 and
a car nut since I could drive.  All I play are driving games on a console or
PC.

BTW: My favorite PC sim. is F1 2001 - With enough PC horsepower is it
fantastic.

Give it a chance...

view.

Disagree.  Played Metropolis Street Racing (which PGR is based on) all the way
thru from the forward (in-car, but no***pit) view.  After years of PC sims
and real cars, I can't manage a lap from an external (chase) view.

Anyway, MSR was very arcadish, so I imagine Gotham Racing is just as much so.
GT3 is graphically amazing, and fun.  But don't think it alone is worth
purchasing a PS2 for.  Too arcadish, actual racing is poor.  But I wish there
was an equivalent on the PC.

  Thats what replays are for.

I spent nearly all of Thanksgiving weekend playing various Xbox games on
the couch with my son, brother, and nephew.  It was a blast, and you
just can't do that with a PC.
