PC wheel w/gas-brake levers on wheel

by Hamm » Fri, 11 Jul 2003 05:32:20

I am looking for a pedalless USB wheel for F1 racing on PC.  I
currently have a TM usb ff, the one with the ferrari logo in the
middle, 4 levers behind the wheel - the top two are for shift levers,
the bottom pair are for gas/brake.  I don't remember if it came with
pedals, it's at over 2 years old and I probably chucked them out.

My gas lever has finally given up the ghost - DAMNIT!  This wheel
served me well though.  I can't use pedals, therefore I don't want to
pay for them, but I will if I have to.  I need the levers.  It's all
about the gas/brake levers!

I play GP3/4 and plan to get EAF1 also.  Thanks.  The email is bogus,
please reply here.  Sorry if this question is a pain in the a$$, I
rarely visit here.

Mine came with pedals, and I was thinking of selling it. Check ebay for
a replacement for the one you have.
or
change the pots if possible

Are they? That's news to me, I spoke to their support dept the other day!

The Thrustmaster F1 Force Feedback has analogue levers behind the wheel that
duplicate the pedal controls, as well as 10 buttons, a hat & the shifter
bar.

The FF is a bit notchy (gears) but otherwise it's a quality product imo.

If you're in the UK PC World have loads, but it's about 120.

Actually, they were bought up by Guillemot and are distributed under
that name in certain parts of the world, and those areas change from
time to time it seems, creating some confusion

Yes, the same thing happened to Hercules, although I've never had a
pre-Guillemot Thrustmaster product, so I can't compare the quality. The
Wheel I (briefly) had was well made, but the pedals weren't. Fortunately
that won't deter Hammer ;-)

It may well be that Thrustmaster is, in your opinion, a shadow of it's
former self, but Thrustmaster branded products are still available to buy,
and Thustmaster are still effectively trading, albeit as a sub-brand of a
larger company rather than a company in their own right.
