On the F1 nor the GT, the controller configuration just doesn't work.
Controller is TSW GT. Works great in GPL. Steers only left, and the
upshifts won't work.  Rev limiter won't turn off. Spent a day on this.
In the calibrate screen, only the left side is red. It will steer left
a little, but not right at all. Iv'e been running GPL for four years,
and I thought I knew how to calibrate! Any ideas? Sam

That's a toughie.  Checks out in under Win/CP/Game Opts, I presume?  Are you
running it in GPL under the generic or the Papy driver?  Win9x/ME or XP?
Other tweak applets?  There's always the option of buying a decent FF wheel,
but I would understand yer unwillingness to part w. the TSW, a fine wheel.

My guess is you're going to have to use the controller tweaks in the
.PLR file, and possibly DXTweak2 to get it sorted.  I always seem to
read these at work when I can't get the direct links to the info you
need, but between RAS and forums like racesimcentral you should be
able to find what you need.

This might not help, but:
GPL doesn't care about Windows calibration - maybe F1 2002 GT does.

Uh, thanks. Could you explain what the tweaks in the .PLR file are?
And where is it?

Generic Driver. Win 2000 Pro. No tweaks. Poswdm utility from "Gadgets"
site indicates all is normal with the TSW controller. And, of course,
it works perfectly with GPL. Looked at the Windows controller set and
all OK there, too. Something in F12002 is kaput on my machine, or I
have boogered something.

Do a search.  It's in your PLAYERNAME folder.  Of course, unless your name
is PLAYERNAME, you'll have to substitute your real monicker.)

It's a seekrit ;)...

Sorry - just had 20oz of Kahlua&cream and I'm slightly punchy...

I think Jari was on the right track - have you calibrated the
controller in Windows?  The fact that the rev limiter and shifter
don't work make me think when you tried to assign these controls
F1-2k2 saw an analog input for these instead.  Check that first.  Go
to www.wingmanteam.com for DxTweak2 - it'll let you manually set the
controller range and center values if you have trouble calibrating.
The PLR file tweaks are mainly for the notorious split-axis pedals
bug.  In a nutshell, F1-2k would ignore 50% of the pedal travel on the
brake and gas if you had your pedals setup for split axis.  F1-2001
required alot of DxTweak work to get a min/center/max setup that would
give you full pedal range, while F1-2002 introduced settings in the
.PLR file to help with this (and out-of the box miraculously worked
with the TM pedals on a separate controller from my Act-Labs wheel).

Good luck - GTR-2002 is *definitely* worth the effort, and F1-2002 is
pretty good in its own right.  Don't forget to enable super-high
physics rate in your PLR file as well - look for it, it's there ;).

THANX! Apparently it does! Making progress.
