F1RS Carset and other problems

by NoSPA » Sun, 21 Jun 1998 04:00:00

Hi, I downloaded the following files so I can update the carset to 1998:

F1RS1998.zip        Carset files
F1RSINST.zip
F1RSRAYS.zip
F1RSUtils_V13
VB5RTSP3            VB Runtime Lib

All the programs are configured correctly...pointing to the right directory
and all...when I run F1RSINST, it finds the carset and attempt to
install...but the status bar stops at 80% and the program hangs...anyone
knows why and how I should correct this?

Like I said before, I already provided my F1RS directory for FIRSCKPT.exe
and F1RSRAYS also run correctly using the VB5 runtime library.

My system spec:

PII 300 w/96MB RAM
CL Voodoo2 w/12MB
TSW
F1RSVOO.EXE

By the way, I didn't have to put those two files in my \WINDOWS\SYSTEM
directory for my voodoo installation...I'm running the latest reference
drivers.

Can anyone tell me how I can be sure that I'm running the GLIDE version and
not the DirectX version?

Thanks for any solutions, suggestion, etc.

I had this problem, I *think* I solved it by putting all the files in the
F1RSRAYS directory (cars,cockpits, f1rsckpt.exe, f1rsinst.exe etc)

Check that F1VOO.EXE is the only .exe in the f1rs dir, if it still runs, then...
