n99: final word on usb devices?

by Brian Fo » Sat, 27 Feb 1999 04:00:00

It's obvious by now that a logitech FF won't work correctly with n2 or any
dos executable of nascar racing, but unless I missed a post, has anyone
verified that it will absolutely and positively work with the win version of
n99?  N2 and the bgn expansion pack are just sitting collecting dust, and if
n99 will make this game playable again now that I've sold my T2, I might as
well buy it to tide me over 'til n3.  Of course I also need something to
play in between getting frustrated with my inconsistent lap times in gpl.
Thanks.

The Wingman FF wheel will work in the windows install of n99 but you wont
have the multiplayer option, what a bummer. It wont work in any of the DOS
installations as far as I know without glitches in the wheel. This wheel is
great, much better made than the Thrustmaster Nascar pro. Not that the
Thrustmaster wheel is bad for the price, it is also an excellent product but
if you have the money the wingman is nicer. The feedback effects in the TOCA
2 demo and Colin McRae are cool. In TOCA 2 you can feel the tires reaching
their limits before you actually spin out. Nicely done. Hope this helps. If
anybody has a solution for this I am still looking.
