GP3 2000 Freezing after ~12 minutes

by Francys Gr » Sat, 30 Mar 2002 21:57:06

I running GP3 2000 on Win2k, Athlon 1.7xp, with an ASUS Geforce 2 MX
400 64M and 256 M RAM. I've just upgraded the drivers to the ASUS and
now it locks up after about 12 minutes of racing. Have to cold boot
the machine. Drivers were upgraded as the screen would black out after
about 20 minutes and pushing the spacebar brought back the screen.
This is worse.

Any ideas why?

Thanks Francys

Try taking the side of you case off and put a fan blowing on your cpu/video
card. These sound like classic over heating problems.

Go back to the older drivers.

Do you have all of the power saving features disabled in the Control
Panel and in  your BIOS?

thanks to those who replied, and particularly Jason. Turned off the
power saving features and guess what, no problems.
