There are TWO indications to a bumpy surface.

The first, and obvious one, is that the plank will flash yellow on the car
in your***pit showing that you are bottoming out.  The more flashes, the
more you are bottoming.  if it stays a constant yellow, then you are so
low that you are driving with the car touching the track.  The plank will
soon turn red from the friction and the car will slow down.

The second, and not real obvious indicator, is that the car will 'bounce'.
This can be SEEN because the view will slightly shake.  It's not like in
Duke3D when an earthquake goes off, but you should notice a shake to the
view as you are driving.  This is seen while in the***pit and viewing
the normal driving view.

If you listen careful you can also faintly hear the plank hitting.
No, I am not making this up!

I find the car jolts around when I take fast corners
but the plank does not light up

& I cant see anything in the tech data saying I am bottoming
  out anywhere

  Any ideas

Yep, you are _not_ bottoming out! (Use the Inspect Vehicle option in
the advanced set-up screen to check if you are getting any plank wear
if you doubt this).

If you have lots of packers, you will be effectively racing without
any springs. This makes it very bumpy, but with enough packers you
will keep off the ground.

On some circuits (try turn two at Hungary <g>) it is simply a very
bumpy surface. You can notice the bumps even with a high ride height &
soft springs.

BTW You will only get plank wear (even on the bumpiest of circuits) if
you lower the ride height of the car.

SO that is what that flashing going on at Spa is! I've been wondering-
I'd sort of decided it was traction loss indicator. Thanks for
clearing that up.
