Hi just bought & installed F1rs after confirming with the software shop (
Berlin Wall in Adelaide) if this would run on my P166 MMX with Diamond 2000
pro 3d video card(I said I would not take it home if it would not run)
Guess what, it does run but in my eyes not usable.
My T1 wheel will not work ( it works in all others) This game is ***&
Berlin Wall is crap. Ok so I could pick up a 3dfx card at I am sure to be
quite a few dollars. I just going back to GP2 at least it works ok.

A 3Dfx card is almost essential these days. Do yourself a favour and buy
one. Then you will experience superb games like F1RS which, despite some
little problems, blows GP2 off the park!

Terry,
I'm always sorry when a professional in the business of selling
software does not know what they're talking about. You really do need a
3dfx card. I must say however, once you see Monaco in the rain with the
cars throwing a water plume off their wheels...  you will never play GP2
again. Yes, F1RS is that good, coming from someone who has been driving
GP2 course for right at two years.
        All the best, Mike Davis

How much memory do you have?
Are you running the Direct3D version?
If you can afford to pickup a cheap 3Dfx card (Orchids seems to have
dropped in price), then do it, because it will open your eyes and you
will forget about GP2

Wow! another reader on R.A.S. who shops at the Berlin Wall in Adelaide. In
my opinion on my K6 233 with 3DFX F1RS is the greatest game ever in any
genre. I am sorry that you do not agree. I do agree with you that the prices
of 3DFX cards in Australia is way too high with prices still around $350 I
was lucky enough to get one from Hong Kong for about half that price.

If the Berlin Wall is ***then what software shop in Adelaide would you
recommend? I think the answer is going to be that they are all crap.

Urm... GP2 was only released in Aug 96. So I take it you're a Microprose
beta-tester. How's GP3 testing coming along <g> ;-))

Want the latest and greatest? Get the latest and greatest! Your
graphics card is a joke - just like asking the fella at the store if it
will run.

This is becoming a little petulant, but er... the game was introduced in
the Silverstone 96 Autosport special !!! I suppose we all wish that we
had it in 95, but GP2 is *only* little more than a year old! Time does
fly.

I only have the english demo, but I have a question.  In the real game
do you have to reconfigure your controller every time?  Thanks.

Wrong. GP2 was released in the UK on July 19th 1996. It was available in
a few shops the afternnon before, but you're living on a different planet
if you got it in 95 ;-)

Cheers,
Richard
