F1 console club idea

Hi,

I know this newsgroup seems to be aimed more at the "serious sim" end of the market but
please do not shout at me for putting something in about F1 on the Playstation!. I
myself prefer sims at the more serious end of the spectrum but never have I had so much
fun as when myself and my brother link our Playstations and do a full length Grand
Prix (linked involves 2 televisions and 2 playstations, not split screen. PC's are
superb for 2 player but I cannot be bothered with the hassle (carting everything
around, expense of upgrading, complexities of linking together, program crashes).
Playing link mode on the playstation is simple and it NEVER crashes (granted sims on
the PC are more detailed and realistic).

Anyway it got me to thinking how cool it would be to link 26 Playstations for a full
race - not possible untill someone designs the software of course, at the moment only
two human players can drive against the other 24 AI cars. But there are ways around
this to some extent and I have set up an idea for a console racing club.

The club will have up to 26 members and will race a season of events. Imagine a room
with up to 26 Playstations and TV's, the highest ranked player links to the next
highest, the third highest ranked links with the fourth highest and so on. I have
devised a method of keeping races fair, of including reliability issues, sponsorship
issues and pit stop issues. At the end of all the races the times will be listed and
points awarded.

For a full and detailed outline of the rules etc. it is at the following address
http://www.racesimcentral.net/

I am looking for further drivers in the Midlands (Derby/Nottingham) area of the UK

Any thoughts from anyone also welcomed

Best wishes

Jules
